Decree No. 82/2021 approving the Regulation of Recreational and Sport Fishing.

This Decree approves the Regulation of Recreational and Sport Fishing. This Regulation, consisting of 45 articles divided into nine Chapters and twelve Annexes, aims to regulate the provisions of Fisheries Law, approved by Law No. 22/2013, of 1 November, relating to the exercise of recreational and sport fishing. This Regulation applies: a) to all domestic or foreign amateur fishermen, clubs, sports associations, tour operators, tourist resorts and competition organizers who practice recreational and sport fishing in the jurisdictional waters of Mozambique; b) recreational and sport fishing activities in the maritime waters and in the continental or inland waters of Mozambique; c) recreational and sport fishing activities carried out by national and foreign fishing vessels in the jurisdictional waters of Mozambique. The Regulation is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap. I); Fishing licensing (Chap. II); Fishing vessels and methods (Chap. III); Fishing areas and seasons (Chap. IV); Quantity of fish and captures (Chap. V); Fishing competitions (Chap. VI); Fishing Licence Fees and Revenue Destination (Chap. VII); Inspection, infractions and penalties (Chap. VIII); Final provisions (Chap. IX).
