Ministerial Order No. 121/2021 approving the Regulation of the Cotton and Oilseed Institution of Mozambique (IAOM IP).

This Ministerial Order approves the Regulation of the Cotton and Oilseed Institution of Mozambique (IAOM IP). This Regulation, consisting of 63 articles divided into five Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of IAOM IP, entitled to perform the following activities: a) coordinate activities for the promotion, trade and processing of cotton and oilseeds, as well as their products, by-products and other plant cultivation for textile purposes; b) create mechanisms aimed at increasing the production, processing and marketing of cotton and oilseeds, their products and by-products, as well as other plant cultivation for textile purposes; c) encourage production and certification of cotton seeds, oilseeds and other crops for textile purposes; d) create types and standards for the purpose of classifying seed cotton and fiber, oilseeds, as well as other crops for textile purposes, in accordance with national and international norms; e) assist producers throughout the production value chain; f) promote products under its supervision and training of staff; g) comply with technical and environmental standards in the production of cotton, oilseeds and other crops for textile purposes; h) promote development, research and extension; i) regulate the subsector; j) propose subsector policy and legislation frameworks; and k) conduct marketing studies, statistics and monitoring the sector.
