Abstract
An Ordinance to implement the Feedstuffs Act 1999 (BGBl. I No. 139/1999) regulating the production and marketing of animal feed. The Ordinance contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed such as "animal feed", "daily ration", "animal feedstuffs containing minerals "expiry date; "micro-organism", "plant protection products", etc. It is illegal to produce animal feed potentially harmful both to humans and animals. Moreover, it is unlawful to use unauthorized additives and other substances. The Ordinance consists of 35 articles divided into 9 Parts: Special labelling of feedstuffs (2); Admission and use of additives and compound feedstuffs (3); Undesired and prohibited substances (4); Admission and registration of producing plants (5); Import (6); Fees (7); Surveying authorities (8); Final Provisions (9). Five Annexes are enclosed.
