Abstract
This Act, consisting of 55 sections divided into eight Parts and completed by one Schedule, aims at protecting the dolphin population of the Port Adelaide River estuary and Barker Inlet and to protect the natural habitat of that population.
The Act provides for the establishment of the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary and for the preparation of the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary Management Plan. The Act also establishes the Adelaide Sanctuary Advisory Board and defines its internal composition and its functions. A fund called the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary Fund shall be kept.
The Act further provides for: the administration of the Act; general and duty of care of the Sanctuary; offences; etc.
