Abstract
These Regulations implement some of the provisions of the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea Order, 2005.
The Regulations provide for: powers of the Director of Marine to grant exemptions from all or any of these regulations for any ship; powers of surveyors of ships to inspect any ship in order to verify that it carries a valid Certificate for the Carriage of Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk; the prohibition on proceeding to sea without a certificate; BNLS Certificates; offences and penalties; fees; etc.
