Decree No. 12.084 establishing the Minha Casa, Minha Vida (MCMV) Clean Energy Programme.

This Decree establishes the Minha Casa, Minha Vida (MCMV) Clean Energy Programme, with the aim of promoting the implementation of renewable electricity generation, primarily for housing units in the MCMV Programme for Urban 1 and Rural Groups 1. The objectives of the MCMV Clean Energy Programme are: reduce the financial costs of electricity services for families benefiting from the My House, My Life Programme who, as a priority, fall into the Low Income Residential Subclass, under the terms of Law No. 12.212 of 20 January 2010; expand access for housing units in the MCMV Programme to the generation of electricity from renewable sources; promote the efficient use of electricity in housing units under the MCMV Programme, in an integrated manner for the low-income population; and contribute to the financial sustainability in housing developments under MCMV Programme, by reducing financial cost on electricity.
The MCMV Clean Energy Programme's guidelines are: promoting access for housing units in the MCMV Programme to reliable, sustainable, modern and affordable electricity services; targeting based on social, economic and energy criteria; prioritizing actions that include mitigating the impact of tariffs on other electricity consumers; and integrated approach with income transfer programmes, access to social housing and other energy policies.
