Law No. 12.635 establishing General Rules for the Rehabilitation of the Santana River Basin.

This Law establishes the general rules for the rehabilitation of the Santana River Basin. The principles for this river rehabilitation are: the systematic management of water resources that takes into account the quantitative and qualitative aspects and the priority uses of these resources; conservation and recovery of protected areas, biodiversity and soil; the comprehensive provision of basic sanitation services; the development sustainability of economic activities within the river basin, responsible for generating employment and income; and permanent monitoring of its environmental assets.
