Law No. 22.213 creating the Mineral Development Centre (Mineral Centre).

This Law creates the Mineral Development Centre (Mineral Centre), with headquarters in the Municipality of Campos Verdes. The Mineral Centre will meet the following principles: promote the socioeconomic development of the region, in order to expand the labour market and value local natural resources; respect the ecologically balanced environment and sustainable development; stimulate the sustainable use of mineral resources, through the use of the best and most efficient extraction and production techniques and technologies. The objectives of the implementation of the Mineral Centre are: promote raw materials, inputs and exhibitions of mineral products; encourage the development of specialized trainings for artisanal production of mineral products; encourage the production, cutting and sale of precious stones, handicrafts and jewelry.
