Abstract
The State Policy aims to: encourage the organization of a maternal and child health care network; encourage the regulation of maternal and child health care within the scope of the Unified Health System (SUS); encourage surveillance of maternal and infant deaths; stimulate the social mobilization of sectors involved in the issue of maternal and child health and participation in the communities in which the pregnant woman is inserted, in person or on a social network. The State Policy established here will meet the following guidelines: encourage the implementation of secondary reference care services for pregnant women and children in high-risk conditions, in each health region; encourage access for high-risk pregnant women to support homes linked to reference hospital units; encourage access to human milk banks and human milk collection points; encourage the monitoring of maternal and child mortality and the investigation of the causes of these deaths; stimulate the training of professionals who work in the care of pregnant women and newborns and in emergency land and air transport units to care for newborns, etc.
