Abstract
This Law creates the Programme for Promoting the Genetic Improvement of Cattle in the State of Alagoas. The specific objective of the programme is to disseminate artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization and other related technologies as easily accessible techniques. The Programme provides for high quality services to rural producers in the State, with the ultimate goal of genetically improving the dairy and/or beef cattle herds on rural properties in the State, raising productivity rates, generating greater income for producers and higher quality products sold by them. Access to the Incentive Programme for the Genetic Improvement of Cattle is restricted to rural producers resident and domiciled in the state of Alagoas, who cumulatively meet specific requirements.
