Critical Habitat of the Nooksack Dace (Rhinichthys cataractae ssp.) Order (SOR/2016-82).

The present Regulations are made under section 58(1) of the Species at Risk Act. This section deals with destruction of critical habitat and establishes that no person shall destroy any part of the critical habitat of any listed endangered species or of any listed threatened species. In this connexion section 1 of the present Order rules that the afore-mentioned subsection 58(1) applies to the critical habitat of the Northern Madtom (Noturus stigmosus), which is identified in the recovery strategy for that species that is included in the Species at Risk Public Registry.
