Abstract
The present Regulations are made under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act. The purpose of these Regulations is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from heavy-duty vehicles and engines by establishing emission standards and test procedures that are aligned with the federal requirements of the United States. The text – consisting of 64 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: prescribed classes of vehicles and engines, national emissions mark, labelling, greenhouse gas emission standard, instructions, records, application for exemption.
