Abstract
The present Regulations are made under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act 1999. The purpose of these Regulations is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from passenger automobiles and light trucks by establishing emission standards and test procedures that are aligned with the federal requirements of the United States. The text – consisting of 45 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: interpretation, background, prescribed classes of vehicles, national emissions mark, greenhouse gas emission standards, records and importation document.
