Abstract
The present Regulations enact the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. The Regulations require an average renewable fuel content of five per cent in gasoline starting on 15 December 2010. The Regulations include provisions that govern the creation of compliance units, allowing trading of these units among participants and also require record keeping and reporting to ensure compliance. The text consists of 40 sections divided into 3 Parts as follows: Requirements pertaining to gasoline, diesel fuel and heating distillate oil (1); Compliance unit trading system (2); Records and reporting (3). Eight Schedules are enclosed.
