Abstract
The aim of the present Act is to integrate renewable energy into the market reducing the costs of the so-called “energy turnaround” (Energiewende) in Germany. To accomplish this, the federal government limits the annual extension of renewable energy plants and implements a fundamental change to the statutory tariff structure. In the future, operators of renewable energy plants will receive the statutory feed-in tariff only in exceptional cases. Instead, the direct marketing of energy generated by renewable energy plants will be mandatory. The text consists of 104 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Connection, capture, transfer (2); Financial promotion (3); Settlement proceedings (4): Transparence (5); Legal protection and official proceedings (6); Empowerment, reports and transitional provisions (7). Four Annexes are enclosed.
