Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1396 amending certain Annexes to Regulation No. 999/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down rules for the prevention, control and eradication of certain transmissible spongiform encephalopathies.

Annexes II, III, V, VII, VIII and IX to Regulation (EC) No. 999/2001 (which lays down down rules for the prevention, control and eradication of certain transmissible spongiform encephalopathies - BSE) are amended in accordance with the Annex to this Regulation. The amendments are adopted in order to allow the import into the European Union of products of bovine, ovine or caprine origin from third countries with a negligible BSE risk also when these products are derived from raw materials coming, in part or in total, from countries with controlled or undetermined BSE risk, provided that specified risk material has been removed from those raw materials originating from countries with controlled or undetermined BSE risk.
