Law of Georgia on Creation and Management of Pshav-Khevsureti Protected Areas (No. 2237-IIS of 2014)

The Law establishes Pshav-Khevsureti Protected Areas. It consists of seven articles: Scope of application (1); Main purposes and objectives of the Law (2); Categories of Pshav-Khevsureti Protected Areas (3); Location and size of the Protected Areas (4); State management of the Protected Areas (5); Land and natural resources use issues associated with the establishment of the Protected Areas (6); and Entry into force of the Law (7). The objectives of the Law include supporting and restoring biodiversity, restoring ecosystems, supporting sustainable development of the Protected Areas, supporting education and science in the area, protecting cultural and historical heritage in the area, supporting sustainable development of tourism and agriculture in the area, and supporting traditional practices in the area.
