Order No 106 of 1996 of Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia on Charter for State-level Accounting of Use of Water

The Order provides rules for maintaining a state inventory of water use from water objects. The purpose of the regulation is to create quantitative and qualitative assessment tool for anthropogenic impact on water objects. The objectives of the rules include using the obtained information for planning, developing water use schemes, creating state cadaster of water objects, issuing licenses for water use and imposing liability for violation of the water use legislation. The Order imposes certain obligations on business organizations and other persons in the area of water quality and water use rights. The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Georgia maintains the inventory.
