Abstract
Aim of this Decree is to make provisions in order to harmonise the national legislation with Council Directive 98/83/EC on quality standards for water intended for human consumption. The articles and the three Annexes of the Directive are hereby implemented. The Decree is composed as follows: objective (art. 1); definitions (water for human consumption, domestic use, etc.) (art. 2); exemptions (art. 3); general obligations (art. 4); quality standards (art. 5); point of compliance (art. 6); monitoring (art. 7); remedial action and restrictions in use (art. 8); derogations (art. 9); quality assurance of treatment, equipment and materials (art. 10); geographically defined areas of protection (art. 11); competent authorities (art. 12 information and reporting (art. 13); timescale for compliance (art. 14); exceptional circumstances (art. 15); Administrative sanctions (art. 16); Penal sanctions (art. 17).
