Abstract
This Act governs the control and inspection of fish and fish products. It deals with the landing, handling, processing and export of fish and fish products. It defines the powers pertaining to the above stages of production vested into the Minister of Fisheries, the State Fish Inspection and the Fish Industry Research Institue. It consists of 20 articles.

This Act repeals Act No.46 of 5 April 1948 on Fish Inspection and Handling, Processing and Export of Fish; Act No.42 of 9 June 1960 concerning Fresh Fish Control; Act No.42 of 19 June 1933 on Processing, Reduction and Inspection of Medicinal Fish Oil.Repealed by the law no. 93/1992 , on the treatment of marine products and control of their production.
