Regulation No. 962/2019 on fishing for Icelandic summer-spawning herring.

This regulation governs fishing by Icelandic vessels for Icelandic summer-spawning herring, limiting such fishing to vessels with allocated catch quotas and setting the fishing season from 1 September to 30 April. It restricts trawl herring fishing to areas beyond 12 nautical miles from the baseline, establishes minimum mesh-size rules for nets, requires catches to be landed and weighed in Icelandic ports, and imposes sampling, recording, and reporting duties. It also allows transfer of catches between purse seines at sea to prevent dead herring from being released, and sets penalties for violations.
