Abstract
The Law determines principles for seed and variety circulation in Latvia. Its purpose is to protect consumers of seed from the use of poor quality seed for sowing; and to govern the circulation of varieties of agricultural crops, vegetables, fruit trees and berry bushes. The Law applies to the species of agricultural crops and vegetables which are referred to in the laws and regulations regarding growing and marketing of seed; and the species of fruit trees and berry bushes which are referred to in the laws and regulations regarding circulation of propagating material of fruit trees and berry bushes. Only Chapter V.1 of this Law applies to the species of fruit trees and berry bushes.
