Abstract
This Ministerial Order, under Law No. 22/2013, establishes the closed season for octopus fishing in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Inhambane from January 1st to February 29th, 2024, for all fishers and artisanal operators who carry out octopus fishing including: catching, harvesting and marketing. Processing establishments that handle, process and sell octopus from artisanal fishing, throughout the national territory, are prohibited from acquiring, transporting, selling, handling or processing octopus, from production and collection, in the period between January 1, 2024 to February 29, 2024. To this end, fishing companies and operators must submit to the competent local Fish Inspection authorities a declaration of the existence of raw material and final product by December 31, 2023.
