Ministerial Order No. 52/2024 approving the Regulation of the National Administration for Conservation Areas (ANAC).

This Ministerial Order approves the Regulation of the National Administration for Conservation Areas (ANAC). The Regulation, consisting of 52 articles divided into eight Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Administration, entitled to perform the following activities: a) ensure the implementation of biodiversity conservation policies and manage conservation areas; b) promote biodiversity conservation and ensure wildlife management throughout the national territory; c) ensure the conservation of biodiversity, landscapes and associated heritage, through the National System of Conservation Areas; d) define the mechanisms for the administration and sustainable use of conservation areas; and e) establish infrastructure in conservation areas for the management of biodiversity and for economic activities in order to guarantee their self-sufficiency.
