Abstract
The Government-wide Programme for a Circular Economy is a national policy with a cross-sectoral approach. This policy lays down strategies for the transformation of the Dutch economy into a circular economy by 2050 at an accelerated pace. Three strategic goals have been formulated in the Government-wide programme to radically change the Dutch economy over time: (I) utilization of raw materials in existing supply chains in a high-quality manner in order to decrease the demand for raw materials in existing supply chains through increase in efficiency, (II) replacing fossil-based, critical and non-sustainably produced raw materials by sustainably produced, renewable, and generally available raw materials, (III) development of new production methods, designing new products and promoting new ways of consumption.
