Abstract
It is prohibited for Norwegian vessels to fish and land redfish north of 62 N in 2015. The ban does not apply to vessels that can fish and land redfish under Regulation no. 1878 concerning the pursuit of fishing in the lake. Notwithstanding this prohibition, Norwegian vessels are allowed to fishing and landing up to 19 600 tons redfish in the Norwegian economic zone north of N 65 20', the fishery zone around Jan Mayen and in international waters. Of this quantity 500 tons to cover catches and 13 tons for research and educational purposes. The Directorate of Fisheries may redistributing quotas by 1 September.
It is prohibited to fish for redfish with bottom trawls in the period from 1 March to 9 May. In adherence to Regulation No. 755 of 1 July 2011 no. 755 on the regulation of fishing with bottom gear in the Norwegian economic zone, fishery zone around Jan Mayen, and the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard, fishing with bottom trawls for redfish is only permitted within the geographic range listed in article 7. Fishing with pelagic trawls for redfish is only permitted within the geographic areas listed in article 8.
