Regional Legislative Decree No. 5/2024/A adapting the National System for Monitoring and Communicating Risk, Special Alerts and Warnings to the Population to the entire territory of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

This Regional Legislative Decree creates the Regional System for Monitoring and Communicating Risk, Special Alerts and Warnings to the Population and establishes guidelines for the flow of information between civil protection authorities, civil protection agents, technical-scientific entities and other entities involved in the areas of monitoring and communicating risks, alerting the civil protection system and warning the population in the event of an imminent serious accident or disaster, adapting Decree-Law No. 2/2019 of 11 January to the Autonomous Region of the Azores. These provisions are without prejudice to the powers of other organizations to issue special warnings and alerts, or to their respective regimes. The Regional System for Monitoring and Communicating Risk, Special Alerts and Warnings to the Public promotes the necessary actions to prevent and mitigate the effects of serious accidents or disasters, through the departments responsible for health, civil protection, firefighters and communications.
