Regulation on the conditions of keeping, manner of marking and recording of wild animals in captivity.

This Regulation prescribes the conditions that must be met by zoos and other facilities and spaces for keeping wild animals and also strictly protected species of animals in captivity, on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, including the necessary conditions for keeping of such wild animals, and manner of marking and registration of wild animals held in captivity. Captivity is a limited and controlled space for keeping animals from which the animal cannot voluntarily get out or escape.
The conditions for keeping wild animals in captivity do not apply to temporary keeping of wild animals in the following cases: 1) disposal of seized, confiscated or abandoned specimens of wild animals, until the final resolution of their status; 2) keeping sick or injured specimens of wild animals for the purpose of treatment and recovery, until complete recovery of the specimen; 3) accommodation of birds of prey kept for the purpose of falconry, but not longer than three months.
