Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People s Republic of China on protection of migratory birds and natural habitats thereof.

The list of migratory bird species subject to protection by the Parties in inserted in the Annex 1 to the present Agreement and is done in four languages: Russian, Chinese, English and Latin. The Parties have agreed to elaborate rules envisaging prohibition for hunting and catch of migratory bird species, collection of eggs thereof and prohibition of trade of illegally obtained migratory bird species, eggs and other derivates thereof. Exception can be made for the following activities: (a) scientific research, educational and captive breeding purposes; (b) protection of human life and property; (c) limited capture of birds for species conservation purposes; and (d) for ensuring traditional rights of the indigenous peoples.
