Abstract
This Chapter makes it an offence to export apples and pears of any variety, unless accompanied by a certificate of the Secretary showing that such apples or pears meet Federal or State minimum quality standards established for such variety and destination by the Secretary. The term "apples and/or pears" means fresh whole apples or pears, whether or not they have been in storage. The Secretary shall prescribe such standards by Regulation and shall give reasonable notice thereof. The Secretary shall charge a fee for inspecting and certifying the grade, quality, or condition of apples or pears, to determine compliance with both national and foreign quality standards.
