Develop an air quality law for Argentina
Factsheet
The government of Argentina, in October 2023, requested support from the Montevideo Programme V secretariat to develop an air quality law.
The expected results are: (i) to develop a comparative analysis of environmental legislation on air pollution based on national, provincial and municipal regulations in order to also identify those jurisdictions that do not have regulations on the matter; (ii) to propose guidelines of a minimum standards law proposal on air pollution and air quality standards taking into account existing regulations in the different jurisdictions and international standards; (iii) to evaluate sources of funding for the necessary budget for the implementation of the law.
Internal consultations and discussions with the Government of Argentina on the modalities of support are going on. More details will follow.
