The event forms part of the activities under the Fifth Montevideo Programme for the Development and Periodic Review of Environmental Law. It aims to present and examine nature-based solutions (NbS) as a cross-cutting concept for legal and institutional integration that advances the objectives and targets related to climate change mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and land degradation neutrality (NDCs/NAPs, NBSAPs, and LDN targets).

In addition, the webinar seeks to highlight NbS as a catalyst for integrated action under the Rio Conventions and to explore how countries can harmonise their national planning processes to strengthen synergies among the Rio Conventions.
