National Focal Points to the Montevideo Programme V

The United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) is the world's highest-level decision-making body on the environment. In its resolution 2/19, UNEA invited Member States to designate national focal points for exchanging information and building capacities to collaborate with and guide the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in strengthening the Montevideo Environmental Law Programme, as well as for monitoring and evaluating its implementation.

Additionally, in its resolution 4/20 of 15 March 2019, UNEA adopted the fifth edition of the Programme and also invited Member States that had not yet done so to designate national focal points. UNEP, as the secretariat of the Programme, maintains a current list of national focal points (available below). Countries can designate a national focal point or update their contact information by sending a formal notification to the secretariat via e-mail (unep-montevideo@un.org).
