Webinario: La mejor información disponible: ciencia y saberes tradicionales, locales e indígenas a la luz de la Opinión Consultiva OC-32/25 de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos

Meeting Information Meeting documents

The event is part of the activities of the Fifth Montevideo Programme for the Development and Periodic Review of Environmental Law and the Platform of Environmental Law Professors for Latin America and the Caribbean. It aims to bring together a panel of specialists in comparative environmental and climate law, evidentiary reasoning, traditional ecological knowledge, and strategic litigation before the Inter-American System, to examine the practical scope of the "best available information" standard established by Advisory Opinion OC-32/25 of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, as well as its implications for the administration of environmental justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In this way, the event seeks to address how this standard integrates scientific, traditional, local, and Indigenous knowledge as legitimate sources of knowledge and evidentiary value, not subordinate to scientific knowledge.
