Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to control and regulate the supply of water in Brunei Darussalam.
The Water Authority is responsible for the custody and administration of the waterworks and for the management of the supply and distribution of water. The Authority may also have the power to: declare any area of land or water to be a catchment area for purposes of water supply; enter any land for the purpose of constructing, repairing or maintaining waterworks; supply with water for domestic purposes any person; restrict or suspend the supply of water; cut off the supply of water in default of payment; demand deposits; etc.
The Act further provides for the construction and connection of pipes and fittings for the supply of water from the waterworks and defines offences in relation to pollution, waste, obstruction, etc. of water.
