Abstract
The purpose of this Regulation is to deal with drug residues waste management, whether they are generated domestically or generated by the activity of pharmacies, to ensure their correct and efficient management. The Regulation applies to domestic medication and drugs waste, not eligible for commercialization, collection, and procurement in pharmacies. These residues are regulated by the Regulation on the management of sanitary waste of 17 January 2007. Pharmacies are authorized to voluntarily implant in their establishments waste collection points for domestic medicines, by installing containers in view or by receiving them directly by the pharmacy staff. Pick-up points must be enabled with containers that guarantee that there is no spill or impact on people and the environment. They must be sized and designed depending on the quantity and nature of the waste to be collected and must be duly marked and located always within the pharmacy office premises.
