This decree establishes mandatory surveillance, prevention, and control measures to prevent the introduction and spread of Contagious Nodular Dermatosis (DNC) in Andorra. The action is preemptive, as no cases have been detected in Andorra or its neighboring cross-border areas.
The key Measures of the Decree establish: 1. For International Movements of Live Animals, that all live cattle entering Andorra, whether for permanent import, temporary stay (e.g., transhumance), or returning national cattle—must be accompanied by an official veterinary certificate. This certificate must confirm that within the 10 days prior to entry, the animals are tested negative for the DNC virus; were in good health with no symptoms of the disease; underwent an insecticide treatment before loading. 2. For Animal Transport Vehicles, that all vehicles and equipment used for transporting livestock (cattle, sheep, goats, horses) must present documentation upon entry proving they have undergone disinfection and disinsection. The documentation must also confirm that no other loading or unloading of livestock occurred between the point of cleaning/loading and the Andorran border.
