Law No. 31/2022 on the development and diversification of the livestock and agricultural sectors.

The purpose of this Law is to modify the legislative texts that, directly or indirectly, regulate the development of agriculture and livestock and adapt them in order to promote the development and diversification of these activities and to facilitate the generational transition, in order to ensure its permanence. It also aims to create a legislative framework that is conducive to the development of other complementary activities that can favor the livestock and agricultural sectors, as well as the creation of an advisory body to coordinate actions in livestock and agricultural matters.
This Law is applicable to natural or legal persons registered as owners of an agricultural holding registered in the Register of Agricultural Holdings and to all other activities that may complement it. To achieve its objectives, the administrations develop a policy aimed at promoting agricultural and livestock activities, with the following purposes: a) Promote the continuity of the livestock and agricultural sectors and increase their productivity and competitiveness; b) Diversify and boost the economic activity of the livestock and agricultural sectors; c) Encourage the production of local quality products; d) Encourage innovation and the implementation of new crops and other complementary activities that can favor the primary sector; e) Strengthen public policies to support the livestock and agricultural sectors.
