Cabinet Resolution No. 134 of 2023 regulating the export of aquaculture.

This Resolution consisting of 8 articles aims to regulate the export of aquaculture products. Article 2 permits the export of aquatic organisms caught in international waters for fishermen's cooperative societies and citizen fishermen with registered fishing boats, while also allowing the export of aquatic organisms from fish farms for individuals or legal entities engaged in fish farming, particularly those produced through aquaculture. Under Article 3, export of aquatic organisms, encompassing fish, mollusks, and crustaceans, from fishing waters is permissible year-round and based on demand, contingent upon Ministry approval, with exceptions including (i) fresh and live aquatic organisms from the country's fishing waters listed in Annex 1 attached to this Resolution; (ii) fresh and live aquatic organisms from the country's fishing waters listed in Annex 2, during specified prohibited periods set by the Ministry for each type; (iii) aquatic organisms subject to fishing prohibitions as per relevant regulations. The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment reserves the right to suspend or authorize the export of specific aquatic organisms, guided by stock assessment studies and catch quantities for each species. The eligible categories permitted to export aquatic organisms from fishing waters through established facilities adhere to technical and health standards approved by the competent authority. To export aquatic organisms specified in Article 3 of this Resolution, a valid export license from the Ministry is required for each consignment, ensuring compliance with the importing country's regulations.
