Abstract
This Resolution, comprising 8 articles, aims to achieve the following objectives (i) ensuring transparency in consumer prices; (ii) providing consumers with accurate information to help them rationalize their consumption and make informed choices; (iii) ensuring fair competition among goods based on unit price. It applies to essential consumer goods and household cleaning products, as well as retail stores and digital traders, and authorizes the Minister to amend the list of covered goods and the scope of retail stores subject to it. Article 4 requires that retail stores and online traders prominently display the unit price of applicable goods, separately and clearly from the selling price (with 'unit price' defined as the price per unit of measure, and 'selling price' as the total price of the item). Retailers and digital merchants must display unit prices clearly next to the sale price, in the same font size, using half the space. The Ministry of Economy and relevant authorities are responsible for monitoring retail stores and digital merchants to ensure compliance with unit pricing rules.
