Abstract
This Law aims at the protection of public health and animals against infective and contagious diseases. It is composed of 6 Chapters divided into 31 articles and 3 Tables. Chapter 1 deals with terms and definitions. Chapter 2 pertains to the following: (a) infective diseases; (b) list of infective diseases; (c) competent sanitary tasks in case of appearance of infective diseases; (d) obligatory communication about diseases transmissible from animal to man and vice-versa; (e) information about food intoxication; (f) quarantine measures; (g) inspection; (h) disinfection and disinfestations; (i) destruction of contaminated materials and food; and (j) offences and penalties. Chapter 3 concerns with vaccinations. Chapter 4 refers to local diseases and tasks of the competent authorities. Chapter 5 addresses the control on epidemic diseases. Chapter 6 contains general provisions. Table I contains the list of infective diseases. Table II specifies the quarantine period. Table III lists the diseases transmissible from animal to human being.
