Abstract
This Resolution consisting of 13 articles aims at moving towards the green economy and creating a new economic space by (i) providing basic environmental conditions for the use of recycled materials from construction and demolition waste; (ii) developing the concept of transforming recycled materials into new, high-value products that can be marketed and increase the national economy; (iii) building build a community culture aimed at reducing waste production and developing the concept of waste reuse and optimization; and (iv) protecting the environment, public health together with the sustainable development. The provisions of this Resolution apply to all road and infrastructure projects of the governmental and private sectors. The waste to be used consists of cement components, metal mixture, brick, concrete, sand and gravel, asphalt, mixture of wood, and gypsum. The product quality measurement mechanism has to be conform to the approved UAE standards as well as LEED and BREEAM certifications. Responsible body for the implementation of this Resolution is the local waste management authority in each Emirate.
