Abstract
The Act sets provisions to regulate drinking-water supply and urban water system in the country. The Act consists of 21 articles, divided into 4 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Subscription Fee (II); Judicial Provisions (III); Final Provisions (IV). The Water Supply and Canalization Department is the authority responsible to construct, maintain and preserve the drinking water supply networks. Distribution of drinking water in each region depends on the quality of infrastructure and water resources capabilities. The subscription fee is a one-time cost which should be paid by any customer, based on the size of pipes which may be required for the building and also the use of the building. The drinking water subscription is non-transferable.
