Abstract
The strategy aims to reduce newborn and under-five mortality while improving overall child and adolescent health to achieve Millennium Development Goal 4 (MDG4). It seeks to enhance access to and utilization of essential, evidence-based child survival interventions and create an enabling environment supported by strong political commitment, adequate financial and human resources, and effective governance. Guided by the National Health Policy, Health and Nutrition Strategy, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the approach emphasizes efficiency and quality in healthcare delivery, empowerment of families and communities, and intersectoral collaboration. The integrated framework includes maternal and newborn care, immunization, nutrition, disease prevention, and adolescent health, supported by strengthened health systems, capacity building, financing, and coordinated partnerships at national and international levels. By ensuring continuity of care from pregnancy through adolescence and across all levels of the health system, the strategy envisions sustainable improvements in child survival, growth, and development within a culturally sensitive and rights-based context. The text consists of 7 Parts and 7 Annexes.
