Protocol between the Minister of Energy and Water of Afghanistan and the Minister of Water Resources and Melioration ad the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of the Republic of Tajikistan on shared water resources of 2007.

This Agreement between Afghanistan and Tajikistan cooperation on integrated and sustainable water management of shared watercourses. This cooperation shall take the form of joint investment (with equal shares) for the development of water projects, but also concerns the protection of banks and the construction and maintenance of monitoring of hydrological gauging station along shared rivers and their tributaries. There will also be joint investigation for the possibility of hydropower projects. Hydro meteorological and other technical documents shall be shared. Problems will be solved through the Foreign Ministries of both countries.
