Regulation on the Bed and Limits of Water Bodies, Water Installations and related Conservation Zone.

This Regulation on the Bed and Limits of Water Bodies, Water Installations and related Conservation Zones, which consists of 17 articles, aims to determine the size of the bed and related conservation zone of water resources, lakes, natural canals, rivers, streams, dams, pipes of water supply system, springs, and water wells. The main objectives of this Document consist of prevention of invasion to the traditional conservation zone of water supply systems, prevention of human and financial damages to the population living in the water conversation zones, and prevention of illegal constructions in water bed and conservation zone. The water resources’ conservation zone should be revised every 25 years. The conversation zone of lakes, which do not require cleaning and dredging, is between 150m to 500m, depending on the quality of water. The conservation zone of natural drinking water resources is 150m. All the lakes and natural canals which are in need of cleaning and dredging enjoy the conservation zone area between 5m to 20m. Conservation zones of rivers and streams shall be determined based on their capacity and speed of water flow, between 1m to 20m. Conservation zones of water supply systems shall be determined based on the size of pipes.
