Regulation of Protection and Utilization of Pistachio Forest

The Regulation sets provisions to govern the pistachio forests in Afghanistan. The main objectives of this Regulation are to preserve the pistachio forests and to collect pistachios in proper time by appropriate methods. To preserve the forests and the pistachios, all the pistachio forests should be closed to the public in the duration of fruiting. The exact time should be determined for any specific pistachio forest based on the climatic condition of the region. Collecting pistachios only possible when pistachios are ripened completely. The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock is the authority responsible to implement this Regulation.
