Abstract
The Regulation sets provisions to protect, restore and manage wild medical plants in the country. The Regulation consists of 14 articles, divided into 4 Chapters: General Provisions (I); Responsibilities and Authorities (II); Utilization of Medical Plants (III); Miscellaneous Provisions (IV). The main objectives of this Regulation include: to protect wild medical plants; to improve the production of medical plants through scientific and technical methods; to prevent soil erosion; to prevent desertification. The Department of Natural Resources is the authority responsible to: prevent illegal utilization of endangered wild medical plants and vulnerable types of plants; quarantine plants in emergency situations; cooperate with corporations, authorities and research institutes working in the field of medical plants; increase public awareness on medical, economic, and environmental advantages of wild plants. The local offices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock has the authority to: regulate the exploitation and utilization of medical plants of rangelands, forests, and other natural environments; to prevent illegal use of medical plants; to collect and report the central office; to examine the effects of plants harvesting on soil and environment; to settle relevant disputes.
