Abstract
This Act establishes the Sugar Industry Corporation, defines its functions and powers and regulates various matters of internal organization.
The Corporation shall be instrumental in the establishment, maintenance and continuation of the sugar industry of Antigua and Barbuda. “Sugar industry” includes cultivation and processing of sugar cane and the manufacture of every kind of product and by-product made from sugar cane. The Minister may, after consultation with the Chairman of the Corporation, give directions of a general character as to the policy to be followed by the Corporation.
