Abstract
This Act places restrictions on the exportation of unstained cotton from which the seeds have been extracted by ginning (“clean lint cotton”). Exportation requires the consent of the Minister expressed in the form of a licence as laid down in the Schedule to this Act. The licence shall be issued by an officer appointed by the Public Services Commission for this purpose. Before a licence is issued, the Minister shall, in consultation with the Cotton Growers Association, certify his or her approval of the purchaser of the cotton and the price at which it is to be sold.
